The Company began with six routes, one small freezer and an even smaller office and eight full time employees in Spokane, Washington. Routes served primarily retail grocery stores in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho with Dreyer’s Ice Cream, Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream and Popsicle novelties. In 1994 Williams Inland Distributors began distributing Nestle retail and impulse novelties, and expanded distribution to Western Montana. In 1996 Williams Inland Distributors expanded into the remainder of Montana and a small portion of Wyoming. By 1997 additional lines including Haagen Daz in Montana were added and there were a total of twelve routes, three freezers and offices in Spokane and Montana.
In October of 2000 Williams Inland Distributors purchased its only D.S.D competitor in the Spokane area and began distributing, in addition, to its existing lines Haagen Daz Ice Cream, Breyers Ice Cream, Unilever and M & M Mars novelties as well as some other smaller brands. The company diversified its product mix in 2013 adding Digorno, Tombstone and California Pizza products to its offerings, while adding another. As a result of this growth purchase, Williams Inland Distributors grew the total number of routes to 29 including 4 convenience store routes, a fleet of 35 vehicles, new freezers and offices in Spokane and Montana with approximately 125 full and part-time employees.
Williams Inland Distributors has prospered in the very demanding and competitive D.S.D. business by adhering to an uncompromising commitment to customer service and by building loyalty through honesty and dependability within its vast customer base.
